Default Tips on Monk Ressing

Monks shouldn't be doing the ressing this is in pvp we all know that as well in pve why becuase they need to put all their time into heal or protect. This doesn't mean in pve that Monks don't have to take res of some kind you really need to but tell the party members to get another member of the group to do that so you can concentrate on your jop this is unless that person has died. This so called resser can be another castor or W/Mo the good thing about them or a R/Mo.These ressers should be useing rebirth with the exception of the W/Mo who can use restorelife.post more later.

>.< Was a little confusing to decipher.

Anyways if you are monking for a party in PvE, yes you should have a rez (preferrably Rebirth). As a battle is happening though, if someone dies a caster or another char should rez the fallen ally. Now when they rez they should call that they are rezzing so that you don't end up with more than one ally attempting to rez the same person. This also lets the party know who has used a rez(assuming it's a sig, if not disregard). The only time a monk should be rezzing an ally is after the area is clear of danger, because if the monk was to be rezzing during battle the party would not benefit from any healing.

As for these forms of PvP:

Hall Of Heroes (aka Heroes Ascent)
Alliance Battles

The monk need not bring a rez

Random Arenas and Team Arenas is your call

for pve, i do not like to bring a rez, but if i do it is rebirth, with the normal rebirht rule; rez after battle. if i REALLY need to spot for something else i ask my team if they are okay with it, which they mostly arent. eeeh..so bah, someone dies, the person spams

'I'm dead!'
'I'm dead!'
'I'm dead!'
'I'm dead!'
'I'm dead!'
'I'm dead!'
'I'm dead!'

then they see that im too busy to keep the others alive and cant rez, then the noob monk begins..obviously, none of the others had a rez signet, and the other monk was in my situation..ugh!

so unfortunately, rez is a must for a monk - in pve. you mostl dont ever have the time to talk with your group due to 'gogogogogo' spamming idiots, or teamleaders that odnt even ask if someone is ready and just press 'Enter Mission' when its a full team!

imo, anything but a Me/Mo should NOT bring restore life, just a plain rez signet. nothing is worse than a war with mending using rebirth, then ending with 0, energy and spamming

'My Energy is 0 of x'
'My Energy is 0 of x'
'My Energy is 1 of x'
'omg noob necro'

so meh, for me; everyone but a monk should have rez signet (in pve), monks carry rebirth and Rezmers carry Restore life or the ressurection chant thingy. <.< and Rits can have whatever they want, flesh of my flesh or something, but id still prefer a signet.

PVP is another thing, meh, do what you want there, not many will really care if you go with random groups :/

I never bring a res on my monk, ever. If anyone should be displeased with such, they can get bent. ^

Haha get bent, omg.

For me I always have a res on my monk , mostly it's rebirth and I have a higher energy -1 regen switch. if (and is very rare) I have to rez in battle i would much rather use res sig or ressurect followed by WoH. I switch to res signet in pvp and sometimes will use in AB even. On my warrior/monk I usually always have rebirth and it's my only monk spell on my bar so I'll res as soon as the fights over.

Monks can take whatever they want, but please inform the party members, so they can kick you when you don't think you'll need one.
I mean; We're talking pugs here, right? When you are part of a pug, all members should take a rez with them.
Don't rez in battle, unless you don't mind to fail the mission. Pugs have terrible defence skills, so you'll be healing constantly.

I always bring restore life because as my healing skill goes up, so does your health when I res someone. Res sig is nice but only a one-use deal between hero kills. Right now i have like a 56% health which is better than mose Res spells or sigs I've seen (Other than the signet)

Restore life is one of my personal favorites. Used at the end of a fight, or at a point where the fight is pretty much ended and your heals or protection spamming isn't needed. That's when you `get 'em back up.'

In PVP though, nothing makes up for Res Sig.

If you're going skill capping or say, doing the facet mission, res sig is completely viable. Restore life is great, but I wouldn't carry it on a monk, simply because it's touch range. If I don't have rebirth yet, I take just plain old ressurect and RoF them as soon as they're up.

In PvE I rez whenever I feel rezzing should be done, even in the middle of a battle. If the party members are doing fine for health thanks to their own attacking/defending as well as the other monk, I start my resurrection chant. If it's safe to do a rez, then by all means do it.

I've always been a fan of this setup:

-Monks bring Rebirth (after battle rez when there are mobs around the bodies)

-W/Mo's bring Restore Life/Resurrection Chant (during battle rez when the situation is stable and safe; after battle rez when there are no enemies around)

-Everyone else bring Rez Sig (during battle rez when the situation is not stable and W/Mo's can't afford to break aggro to cast an 8 sec rez)

Rez sig is the best mid-battle rez, but they should be saved for when they're absolutely needed.

i used to run rebirth, but i found, esp when there are two monks and rez is partcularly needed to handle a hot situation, rebirth most of the time just get the resurructed member killed, even i am well out side the aggro circle...

so i bring restore life when there are two mo in party, and whenever i cast it, i always call, so the other mo knows what i am doing...

(that being said, his/her eyes are probably glued to the red bar and unaware of my call =S)

The first thing here when considering rez in PvE is communication. If you tell the party from the get-go your build doesn't have room for rez on your skill bar and someone else agrees to take it then that should suffice.

Second thing to consider, is the misconception that Monks are in charge of rezzing. When you get the nay-sayers who go "A Monk without Rez? OMG" Um, who appointed monks in charge of rezzing? How about the R/Mo or W/Mo that's accosting the Monk. What they are too good to bring rez? Yes I know how the classic pug pve party operates:

Monk -- rezzing
Tank -- Leroys
Rangers -- plant useles traps and fail to pull
Eles -- spam fire magic and then ping for energy
Necros -- sac themselves to death.
etc.

and then at the end "OMG you don't have Rez?" Yeah how about the fact that not one other party member has a rez...oh well...

Thridly, to save myself the headache i have added rebirth to my build. For me at least it isn't worth the hassle to explain to a pug group why it would be better if someone else brought a rez.

Lastly how to administer Rebirth during battle, or post battle. You shouldn't use rebirth during battle, that's a given, but if you must, or you are feeling cocky, please execute the following steps. If you use mantra of recall, make sure to kick that in, then switch to a negative energy set (or empty set), and hopefully your energy will be as close to 15 as possible (the cost to cast rebirth). Let it rip, and then when it is done, switch back to your regular weapon set.

You can also get a little more distance from Rebirth by running away immediately after it's been cast, but before the dead party member has been pulled.

Well, I am a Pure Healer, a Mo/Mes.

I rarly run out of energy, and have a excellent skill-builds.

For my rez, I only bring Restore Life. I am a experienced healer, and no when to rez. The time to rez is after the battle, let the dumb sacrificeing Necro die, or whatever, focas your time on healing and then when the enemies are defeted then you rez.

Since I only rez after battle, I wont be useing theenergy-sucking ribirth, Id be using Restore Life, when it is safe to loose some energy.

Hmm, but, actully I do need help with something Monk ppl: I HAVE TO FIND BROHN STAFF!

I hate when I rez someone, and then tell them to wait till I heal them fully....they dont, those stupid ppl just run back into the battle right after I rez them then say its my fault I did not heal them right away! :/
Omg, I hate noobs!!!!!!!!!!!

after battle ressing is common sense... but the later you wait, the more dangerous it is... imagine you are still amidst dealing with a mob... 1 member down = effectively 1 less action per 1-2 seconds, which can lead to far fewer dmg out put and increase the focus fire of mobs...

it's a difficult balancing act, but if i am the only monk in group i always bring rebirth and weapon sets to switch...

Learn proper energy management to avoid the energy drain of Rebirth.

Also, I'd hate to be the only person alive.. with the mob in the middle of all dead party members.. without Rebirth.

I always keep an extra weapon slot empty for use when I am rezzing someone with rebirth. I'm sure everyone here is familiar with the standard Rebirth-chaining technique.

I kind of bounce between Rez Sig and Rebirth really. I use Rez Sig in battle if someone important goes down like the only Tank or the other monk ect. If I bring Rebirth it's used as a clean-up rez 99.99% of the time. I don't like to Rebirth in battle and I really really don't like being Rebirthed in battle

"yeah I'm alive...I have a fourth of my health, zero energy and all my skills are disabled for 10 seconds...but I am alive"

I'm the same way.

Word of Healing, Reversal of Fortune, Divine Boon, Glyph of Lesser Energy, Heal Party, Aegis, Resurrection Signet, and Rebirth.

If we're fighting a boss, I'll use Rez Sig immediately. If not, priority target.
